20th Century Fox Home Entertainment Japan recently installed life-sized lightsabers in place of hand rails in Tokyo’s trains as part of its promotion for the new ‘Star Wars – The Complete Saga’ Blu-ray DVD boxset release. The lightsabers have built-in LED lights which can be turned on at the press of a button. The campaign has received positive reviews thus far, as it is the first time that this kind of installation has been used in an advertising campaign.

At first I was like “11 minutes!?!” but it’s TOTALLY worth it for the laughs and geek references. This guy deserves to come back to the park, and I kind of want to be his friend so I can go with him.
